Each month we highlight a different way that light makes an impact on our lives. For the second part of this series, we are looking at some of the reasons for good-quality lighting in your building. This month, we are focusing on lighting aesthetics.
One of the most predominant reasons for lighting, besides providing actual light, is to make our surroundings more aesthetically pleasing.
The lighting you chose to install in your building creates the overall mood and tone of the space. This directly impacts the people who occupy it. We’ve discussed before how lighting actually has a psychological influence, making it a key element in design.
Beyond how the fixtures themselves look, it’s also important to think about how the lighting certain areas or land on a surface.
A thoughtful decision on your lighting design can also add value to your building! Upgrading or installing visually appealing lights allows you to increase the amount you charge for rent. This is due to the fact that, quite simply, the building looks better.
What kind of message does your favourite building say, or how does it make you feel? Lighting aesthetics is one of our favourite topics. We’d love to know your thoughts on it! Send us an email at [email protected].
