Each month, we highlight awesome light installations in and around Calgary.

Next time you need to pick up some sweet treats at the Calgary International Airport before your flight, head over to Cococo Chocolatiers, formerly known as Bernard Callebaut, and check out the lighting while you’re there!

2 years ago, we replaced the lighting fixtures in the store. The curved display posed an interesting challenge for us with its shape. However, we were able to install LED strips on the counter to show off the chocolates. More importantly, the LED strips that we installed generate no UV and no heat, emitting nothing more than a nice, warm colour on the chocolates.

We also independently lit up the various levels of shelves in the store with display lighting to show off the packaging and different gift ideas.

To provide overall lighting, we replaced the bulbs in the pot lights with LEDs. This cut down on power consumption overall, while at the same time creating more of an ambiance with pleasant lighting. The pot lights, previously 50 watt, were changed out for 7 watts. We changed 30 lights total, which at a savings of 43 watts/bulb results in a total of 1,150 watt savings!

The airport location generated such a positive response that Bernard Callebaut asked us to do the same light installations in most of their other locations throughout the city.
