We’ve talked about lighting in terms of safety, but even more practical than that; lighting helps us keep our city clean.
Without light to illuminate our streets, alleyways, or parks, there is less accountability to keep these areas clean. People are influenced by lighting, and if there is no light then garbage and other debris are basically hiding under the cloak of darkness. As we’ve mentioned before, light impacts us psychologically, which in turn triggers the urge to keep our spaces tidy.
In what ways do you think light helps keep the city clean?
